"We categorically rule out a coalition or formal arrangement with the Bloc Quebecois."

That is the key point in the Liberal Party media release from this morning.

I would guess that most people opposed to a coalition, who are not Conservative partisans, are opposed to it because of the idea that the a seperatist party might gain some power in our Federal Government.

Remove that worry and the idea of a coalition is no longer so objectionable, except of course to Conservative partisans.

Now all the Liberals have to do is take the above statement and place it beside the letter Mr. Harper wrote to the GG in 2004 and the statements made by Mr. Duceppe today regarding the process that lead to that letter.

Not only would the Liberals neutralize the coalition issue as a threat in this election they would turn it back on Stephen Harper, making him look like the hypocrit that he is on this whole issue.

On a related note, did Stephen Harper and the Conservatives really believe that their machinations of 2004 would not be brought back into the light when they began trying to scare Canadians about the "evil coalition" again?

That is what is said today.
But could not be said yesterday, and was done in the winter of 2008-9, with Ignatieffs signature on it.

Canadians need something more to convince them, and I am not sure this can be done.

You are a Conservative supporter.

Mr. Ignatieff could write it in his own blood and you would still not believe him.

So, your opinion does not matter.

Big time doesn't fucking matter.

I've been wondering for awhile what the Globe and Mail will do in regards to party endorsement. Twice now they have endorsed Harper's Conservative campaigns and I just can't see how they can do it again.

The above comment was mean't for a post that keeps disappearing. At least I know I'm not going mad now..

Dion rejected a coalition also.

Count Iggy's weasle words don't matter because his signature is on the coalition doccument. That coalition agreement expires later this year so that's why they are forcing an election now.

Omar, I am trying to write a post on the media and how it will cover this election but every time I publish blogger takes away all of the paragraph breaks making it a wall of words.

I have tried it twice with the same result so maybe something is up with blogger.

I will try again later.

They are forcing election now, Ridenrain, because your team can't shoot straight. They are an inept embarrassment that's time is up. It's amazing they've lasted this long. Do try to keep up, will ya?

Yeah, I figured it was something like that. So, what do you think the G&M will do?

Omar,

Watch the campaign and who seems to be leading in the final week.

They will endorse that person and party. I would bet a sizable chunk of money on it.
