Do the Liberals have a hidden agenda?

There has been a fair amount of complaining about the Liberals and the fact they have not bothered to release even a part of their election platform and that they do not stand for anything. Many are saying this is the reason why the Liberals are not doing so well in the polls.

We, of course, have seen this before. Leading up to the 2006 election Stephen Harper talked about nothing but Adscam and absolutely refused to talk about anything else. At the time it was assumed that the reason for this was he had a hidden agenda. So that must be the reason for the Liberals reluctance to release any policy.

So, what is that hidden agenda? Do they have one?

Or are we just seeing again that it sucks to be the Official Opposition in this country?

I'd say its a bit of both. Being the Opposition sucks when you have a government that, despite its scandals, is also doing enough to keep Canadians pacified.

But the Liberals are biding their time, crafting a platform which they hope will give them their ticket. We're marching to the beat of a specific drum - autumn or bust. The leadership is most likely looking towards the fall as the time for an election. They're keeping everything under wraps until then.

I think it's more to do with not wanting your policies stolen by the governing party when you don't no when the next election will occur.

Aren't Chretien and Broadbent still negotiating the details?
